About the Assignment
Indigo Global Development Inc. is seeking an experienced consultant to assess the commercial viability of establishing a breadfruit flour processing business in Haiti.
The assignment will validate the market opportunity, review technical assumptions provided by a local agribusiness partner, assess the competitive landscape, and develop a preliminary business plan and investment roadmap.
The preferred business model is to supply breadfruit flour to Haitian exporters serving international markets, while also assessing longer-term opportunities for direct exports.
Scope of the Assignment
· Validate technical and operational assumptions related to breadfruit processing.
· Assess market demand, competition, pricing, and buyer requirements.
· Map potential buyers, with emphasis on Haitian exporters and selected international market participants.
· Evaluate alternative business models and commercialization pathways.
· Develop a preliminary business plan, including financial assumptions and investment requirements.
· Identify the operational, commercial, and organizational capabilities required prior to investment.
· Provide a clear investment recommendation and implementation roadmap.
Qualifications
· At least 7–10 years of experience in food, agribusiness, export market development, or agricultural value chain analysis.
· Strong market research and business insights skills, with experience turning data into practical recommendations. Demonstrated experience conducting market assessments, buyer mapping, competitive analysis, and business planning required.
· Strong knowledge of food processing, specialty ingredients, and international food markets are an advantage.
. Consulting skills, including client communication, problem-solving, and the ability to present complex findings clearly.
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; spoken French and/or Haitian Creole skills are a plus.
. Bachelor's degree in related field; Master's degree is a plus.

Expression of Interest

· A brief cover email expressing interest in the assignment.
· A current CV or detailed professional biography.
· A summary of up to three comparable assignments completed, highlighting the client, scope of work, and the consultant's role.
· Contact details for one or two professional references who can speak to the consultant's performance on similar assignments.

Based on the EoI received, shortlisted consultants will be provided with the full Terms of Reference and invited to submit a detailed narrative and financial proposal.
