Nairobi, KE Full-time Posted 1 week ago

Job Description

About iGravity

iGravity is a specialized impact investment management and advisory firm committed to building a more equitable and sustainable financial system. We design and manage blended finance solutions that support local enterprises, delivering strong financial returns and meaningful social and environmental impact for both institutional investors and philanthropic partners.

iGravity works with development organizations across the investment lifecycle — from early-stage strategy and innovative finance design to the development of robust Impact Measurement & Management (IMM) systems. On the investment side, we manage private debt strategies focused on emerging markets. Our portfolio includes direct debt investments in local SMEs, as well as investments in local funds and private notes, all guided by clearly defined impact lenses and return expectations.

About the Role

iGravity is looking for a Senior Advisory Associate to join its Advisory team, based in Nairobi.

The role focuses on supporting the delivery of advisory mandates across blended finance, impact investing, and innovative finance, contributing to the design and implementation of financing solutions for development organizations and impact-oriented partners across Emerging Markets.

You will work across a range of activities, including research and analysis, stakeholder engagement, project management, development of client deliverables, and support to business development efforts.

The role offers the opportunity to work on projects spanning Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA, and Latin America, collaborating closely with colleagues across Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

Your role

The Senior Advisory Associate will play a key role in the Advisory team with the following tasks:

• Driving the execution of consulting mandates, advising development actors on topics such as blended

finance, impact investing, and innovative finance across Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA, and LATAM.

- Conducting and overseeing background research and comprehensive literature reviews

- Leading data collection, including designing interview guides, conducting interviews, and managing online

surveys

- Proposing and structuring data analyses to generate actionable insights and testable hypotheses

- Translating complex concepts into clear, client-ready insights

- Managing development of client deliverables, including project plans, milestones, and final reports, with

minimal supervision

• Taking an active role in business development efforts by crafting compelling project proposals and

identifying potential partners to broaden our network in the region.

• Providing ad hoc support to other iGravity business lines as needed.

Who you are

Key attributes/skills for this exciting role are:

• At least 4 years of working experience in an impact investment management firm, consulting firm, financial

institution, development agency, foundation, or similar organisation, with a track record of delivering

complex assignments with increasing autonomy.

• Deep expertise at the intersection of business and finance in development contexts, with emphasis on

SME financing. Knowledge of impact investing, innovative finance instruments, and/or IMM and familiarity

with key actors and entrepreneurial ecosystems is a plus.

• Demonstrated expertise in iGravity-relevant sectors or themes, such as agriculture, education, migration

or climate, is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven capacity to independently process and

synthesize large amounts of information from various sources into clear, actionable insights and

recommendations for clients.

• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, enabling you to independently structure and present

complex findings persuasively and adapt key messages to diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders.

• Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, meet deadlines, and

maintain transparent communication with team members and clients across borders and time zones.

• Full professional proficiency in English is compulsory. Knowledge of other languages (e.g. Swahili, French or

Spanish) is a strong plus.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

• Advanced skills using AI tools (especially Claude) and a focus on delivering consistently high-quality outputs.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, international development, finance, or a related field.

You will report to Morgane Loisel, Manager, Advisory (Zürich Office) and work closely with Michael Kiema,

Senior Advisory Associate (Nairobi Office). You will become part of a dynamic team with colleagues in Zurich,

Kampala, Nairobi, Milan and Bogotá. The role will require the candidate to be physically based in the Nairobi office.
