Ecommerce Bookkeeper Needed for Shopify + Amazon Brand (QuickBooks Online + A2X)
Job Description
Here's the honest situation: I've been doing the books myself in QuickBooks Online and I'm in over my head. Our Amazon deposits come in as these huge lump sums and I have no real idea how to split out the fees, refunds, and ad spend. Our COGS is basically a guess, so I genuinely don't know our true margin by channel. We're about 4 months behind, and our CPA already told me last year that the books were "not clean enough to file from" without a cleanup. I do not want a repeat of that.
What we need help with:
Clean up and catch up the last ~4 months in QuickBooks Online
Set up and run A2X to properly reconcile Amazon and Shopify payouts
Get COGS and inventory tracked accurately so I can see real margins
Monthly bank, credit card, and payout reconciliations
A monthly close with P&L, balance sheet, and ideally a channel-by-channel view
Deliver books each month that our tax accountant can actually file from
Our stack:
QuickBooks Online, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Stripe, PayPal, Gusto (payroll), and a 3PL. Open to adding A2X or whatever you recommend.
You're a great fit if you:
Have done bookkeeping specifically for multi-channel ecommerce sellers (Shopify + Amazon), not just general small business
Understand Amazon settlement reconciliation cold
Are accurate, reliable, and communicate proactively (I don't want to chase you)
A CPA or equivalent credential is a big plus — I'd rather pay more for someone I can trust with this
This would start with a cleanup project and move into an ongoing monthly engagement if it goes well. US-based preferred for timezone overlap.
Looking forward to hearing how you'd approach this.
