Duties and Responsibilities:


Duties at this level will include: Teaching and evaluating students; preparing schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans; Assessing students in clinical areas; Guiding and counselling students in matters related to their academics; Supporting the designing and development instruments to assess health training needs; Developing guidelines for evaluation of health teaching materials for different health fields; Evaluating training programmes to determine their effectiveness and relevance with present and future health needs in the area of specialization; Implementing of competence based curriculum; Planning and organizing continuing education programmes for health workers in relevant areas; Conducting research in area of specialization, operational research and supervising students on research projects; and Participating in formulating and implementing new training strategies


Requirements for Appointment:


For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:



• Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing;



OR



• KMTC Higher Diploma in Anesthesia, Critical Care, Nephrology, Peri-operative nursing, Theater nursing, Psychiatry and Mental Health, Pediatric nursing, Ophthalmic nursing, palliative care, Public health nursing, midwifery, Oncology, Medical-surgical nursing, Family health and practiced in their relevant field for a minimum period of six 6 years

• Been registered with the relevant professional body;

• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six 6 of the Constitution;

• Proficiency in computer applications.
