Model Behavior Monitor

Gulf Associates
, Part-time Remote Posted 2 days ago

Job Description

Gulf Associates is looking for a Model Behavior Monitor to support our internal research processes and commercial advisory work. This is a part-time position offered on a contract basis and is fully remote. In this role, you will assist our partners by scrutinizing the outputs of the models we use for data gathering and investment scenario work. Your focus will be on identifying logical inconsistencies and ensuring that our research stays grounded in the practicalities of the market. This role is designed for an individual who is curious about the intersection of automated data and high-stakes commercial decision-making.

What you will do
β€’ Monitor and review daily model outputs for accuracy against known facts in the commercial territory.
β€’ Flag instances where model content defaults to generic theory instead of reflecting the ground reality of a deal.
β€’ Conduct spot checks on data sources to confirm that model references are valid and currently relevant for our partners.
β€’ Draft concise internal memos summarizing model drift or recurring errors in specific commercial contexts.
β€’ Help the team refine the inputs used to generate scenario work for sovereign entities and family groups.
β€’ Organize feedback logs that partners use to adjust our internal research and data gathering protocols.
β€’ Analyze how models handle complex partnership structures and joint venture logic within the market.
β€’ Assist in the preparation of internal briefings by verifying the supporting evidence behind various model-suggested positions.

What you bring
β€’ A disciplined approach to reading and reviewing long-form commercial documents and technical outputs.
β€’ Strong writing skills with a focus on objectivity, clarity, and brevity.
β€’ Natural curiosity about how large-scale investments and commercial partnerships are structured.
β€’ The ability to work independently and stay productive in a remote setting.
β€’ General familiarity with modern web tools and a basic understanding of how large language models function.
β€’ A healthy skepticism toward automated answers and a preference for verified, evidence-based facts.
β€’ An educational background in business, law, economics, or a related field such as computer science.
β€’ The capacity to manage part-time hours consistently while adhering to set deadlines for research review.

What we offer
β€’ Full remote flexibility with no requirement for travel or presence in a physical office.
β€’ A competitive rate of pay: the position is paid and the pay is attractive for the role and the current market.
β€’ Direct insight into how senior partners approach complex negotiations and regulator conversations.
β€’ A work schedule that can be balanced alongside other studies or professional commitments.
β€’ Exposure to how commercial judgment is applied to filter and verify automated research in a professional setting.

Working at Gulf Associates
Our firm operates on a set of principles that favor ground reality over theoretical frameworks. We work with individuals and entities that make significant capital decisions where the results have consequence. Because of this, we value direct, honest communication and a focus on positions that a client can actually use in a negotiation or a board room. Our culture is built on accountability and technical rigor; we are comfortable being measured by the practical success of the advice we give. For a junior associate or intern, this means your work will not disappear into a filing cabinet. You will see how your research and your monitoring of data sources directly shape the logic we provide to chief executives and sovereign groups. We maintain a small book of active work to ensure that senior bandwidth remains available for every project and every team member.
The Model Behavior Monitor role ensures that as we incorporate new tools into our research stack, we never lose sight of the commercial logic that our clients depend on. You will be responsible for the first line of defense against hallucinations and generic outputs, ensuring that our partners have the most accurate information possible before they enter a room. This is a task that requires both technical awareness and a steady focus on the commercial objective at hand. At Gulf Associates, we believe that the best advice comes from a combination of thorough data and seasoned judgment, and your work will be central to maintaining that balance.
