Job Description
Role Description The Bakery Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya, responsible for overseeing daily bakery operations and ensuring consistent product quality. This role includes planning and coordinating baking schedules, supervising bakery staff, and monitoring production to meet demand and reduce waste. The Bakery Manager will ensure adherence to food safety standards, manage inventory levels, and coordinate ordering of raw materials and supplies. Daily tasks also involve maintaining a clean and safe work environment, handling customer inquiries or issues, and working with management to implement process improvements and sales initiatives. The role requires hands-on involvement in baking activities when needed and active leadership to train and support the bakery team.
Qualifications
• Strong practical experience in bakery operations, including Bakery and Baking skills.
• Ability to deliver positive customer experiences, with solid Customer Service skills.
• Knowledge of Food Safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen or bakery environment.
• Experience with Inventory Control, including stock monitoring, ordering, and waste reduction.
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience in food production, retail, or hospitality.
• Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Basic numeracy and familiarity with sales records or point-of-sale systems; previous bakery management experience is an advantage.
