Job Summary
The Financial Controller oversees financial accounting, internal controls, and tax compliance. This role bridges financial management and technology, leveraging a strong IT background to optimize ERP systems, automate financial data workflows, and support multi-branch operations.
Core Responsibilities Financial Systems & ERP Management System Optimization:
• Lead ERP deployment, customization, and system upgrades.
• Data Automation; design automated workflows to streamline financial reporting.
• Data Integrity; troubleshoot system glitches between sub-ledgers and the general ledger.
• Financial Reporting; generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Inventory & Branch Operations Digital Stock Control; oversee real-time inventory tracking across all warehouses.
• System Integration; align Point of Sale (POS) data with backend accounting modules.
• Branch Audits; conduct digital and physical audits of multi-branch financial data.
• Process Standardization;train branch staff on financial software and data security protocols.
• Tax, Compliance & Audit Tax Systems; manage electronic tax submissions via KRA iTax and TIMS/eTIMS.
• Audit Trails; maintain digital logs and documentation for quick external auditing.
• Risk Management; enforce cybersecurity controls regarding access to financial software.
• Statutory Compliance; ensure strict adherence to KRA regulations and IFRS standards.
Job Requirements Qualifications & Education Accounting Certification:
• Active CPA(K) member in good standing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
• IT Background - Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or Business Information Systems (BBIT) is an added advantage
• At least 5–7 years of experience in a senior finance role with IT project exposure.
• ERP Expertise: Power-user experience in SAP, Oracle, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau), and advanced Excel.
• Proven background managing stock-heavy systems or retail supply chains.
