Security Supervisor
to support the leadership and execution of all security and safety operations within our hotel. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, colleagues, and visitors while upholding the highest standards of discretion, professionalism, and guest engagement.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on security professional with strong leadership potential, excellent situational awareness, and the ability to balance firm control with a refined, guest-centric approach.
Experience within international luxury hotel brands will be a strong advantage.
The Candidate Profile • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior supervisory or assistant security leadership role, preferably within five-star or luxury hotels.
• Solid grounding in hotel security operations, including guest safety, access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, investigations, and loss prevention.
• Strong understanding of luxury hospitality environments, where security presence must be effective, calm, and discreet.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with guests, colleagues, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to balance a firm enforcement mindset with a warm, guest-focused service approach.
• A natural leader who can supervise, coach, and motivate security teams on shift.
• Sound judgment, integrity, discretion, and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure or sensitive situations.
• Working knowledge of local security regulations and emergency response protocols in Kenya.
• Exposure to international brand standards, audits, and compliance frameworks is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations & Shift Leadership
• Support the Security team in the day-to-day management of all security operations.
• Take charge of security operations during assigned shifts, ensuring full coverage and adherence to SOPs.
• Monitor CCTV systems, access control, and patrol routines to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Guest & Colleague Safety
• Ensure a visible yet unobtrusive security presence that enhances guest confidence and comfort.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents involving guests or colleagues.
• Assist in emergency response situations including fire alarms, medical incidents, evacuations, and security threats.
Incident Management & Reporting
• Handle incidents, investigations, and follow-ups with professionalism and discretion.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely incident and shift reports for review by the Security Manager.
• Escalate risks, trends, or serious incidents appropriately and without delay.
Team Supervision & Development
• Supervise security officers on duty, ensuring discipline, grooming, alertness, and service standards are maintained.
• Conduct on-the-job coaching and briefings to reinforce standards and expectations.
• Support training initiatives related to safety awareness, emergency preparedness, and guest engagement.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, and local safety regulations.
• Participate in risk assessments, audits, and inspections.
• Support loss prevention initiatives and asset protection programs.
Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with Front Office, Engineering, Housekeeping, and other departments to support smooth hotel operations.
• Liaise with external security agencies and emergency services when required, under the guidance of the Security Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or assistant security role, preferably in a luxury or five-star hotel.
• Formal training or certification in security management, law enforcement, or safety operations is an advantage.
• Strong operational knowledge of security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems).
• Experience working within an international hotel brand environment preferred.
• Hyatt Hotels Corporation experience is a strong advantage.
