Brand & Creative Manager
Job Description
Kitu Kali is a proudly African-inspired apparel and footwear brand with eight retail stores across Kenya and a growing online presence. We design for the bold — blending contemporary style with a deep sense of African identity. Our customers are high-end locals and discerning tourists who expect quality, authenticity, and a strong brand point of view. We are looking for a creative force to take our brand to the next level.
The role
As our Brand & Creative Manager, you will own the full creative and marketing output of Kitu Kali. This is a hands-on role — you will be equal parts strategist, creative director, and project manager, responsible for how the world sees and experiences our brand every month.
What you will do
• Lead end-to-end production of photo and video shoots — conceptualising the creative direction, sourcing and briefing models, photographers, and videographers, and managing shoots from prep to final delivery.
• Develop monthly brand campaigns that are original, culturally relevant, and commercially driven — keeping Kitu Kali top of mind across our target audience.
• Serve as the primary liaison with our social media and media buying agencies — briefing, reviewing, and holding them accountable to brand standards and performance.
• Partner with the malls and retail environments we operate in to conceptualise and execute in-store activations, pop-ups, and traffic-driving initiatives.
• Manage and maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all touchpoints — digital, in-store, and print.
• Track and report on campaign performance and brand metrics, and use those insights to improve future work.
What we are looking for
• 3–6 years of brand, marketing, or creative experience — ideally within fashion, lifestyle, or retail.
• Proven experience producing lifestyle or fashion photo/video shoots end to end.
• Strong creative instincts with an eye for what looks good and what resonates culturally.
• Comfortable managing agencies, freelancers, and external partners.
• Organised, self-directed, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Nice to have
• Experience with African fashion or lifestyle brands.
• An existing network of Nairobi-based creatives — photographers, models, stylists.
• Basic hands-on content creation skills (shooting reels, light editing).
• Experience running in-mall or retail activations.
• Familiarity with paid social (Meta Ads) and understanding of media planning basics.
What we offer
• A creative leadership role with real ownership and visibility across a growing brand.
• A collaborative, founder-led environment where good ideas move fast.
• Staff wardrobe allowance and generous employee discount.
• Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
