Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Surveillance Network Clinical Coordinator to oversee the coordination and execution of infectious disease surveillance activities across multiple surveillance sites in Africa.
This position is responsible for ensuring surveillance operations, specimen management, protocol implementation, regulatory compliance, and clinical coordination activities are executed efficiently while supporting WRAIR-Africa's biomedical research mission.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
• Coordinate surveillance operations across multiple clinical and laboratory sites.
• Support implementation of infectious disease surveillance protocols.
• Monitor subject enrollment, specimen collection, data quality, and laboratory workflows.
• Coordinate sample processing, storage, shipping, and tracking.
• Maintain surveillance databases and project documentation.
• Assist Principal Investigators with protocol implementation and study execution.
• Support IRB submissions, continuing reviews, and regulatory documentation.
• Coordinate communications among laboratories, clinical sites, and Government leadership.
• Participate in outbreak investigations and surge surveillance activities.
• Prepare technical reports, surveillance summaries, and project documentation.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Biological Sciences, Clinical Research, or related field.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience supporting infectious disease surveillance, clinical research, or laboratory operations.
• Experience coordinating research protocols and clinical studies.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subjects Protection.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary research teams.
• Travel: Frequent travel throughout surveillance sites across the AFRICOM AOR.
• Must successfully complete a Tier 1 National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) (or applicable host-nation equivalent) as part of the onboarding process.
