Role Description The retired coach role is a full-time, on-site position based in Nairobi County, Kenya. This role focuses on mentoring and guiding team members by sharing practical experience, coaching best practices, and constructive feedback. Day-to-day responsibilities include observing staff performance, conducting coaching sessions, facilitating small group workshops, and offering individualized support to help improve skills and confidence. The retired coach will collaborate with managers to identify development needs, recommend training approaches, and help foster a positive, inclusive work environment. The role may also involve documenting coaching outcomes, preparing simple reports, and participating in internal meetings to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, or training individuals or teams in a professional or athletic setting.
• Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback and adapt messaging to different audiences.
• Ability to build trust, encourage collaboration, and support diverse team members with patience and respect.
• Basic organizational and documentation skills to track coaching activities and report on progress.
• Familiarity with financial services or customer-focused environments is an advantage.
• Proven ability to work on-site full time in Nairobi County, Kenya and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is beneficial, even if gained before retirement.
• Formal education in coaching, education, business, or a related field is preferred but not strictly required when offset by substantial practical experience.
