Job Purpose

The Sales Team Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the development and execution of sales strategies for solar energy products and solutions. The role involves leading the sales team, identifying new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets while supporting the organization's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Business Development
• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share targets.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar markets.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
• Develop strategic partnerships with contractors, developers, and other industry stakeholders.

Sales Management
• Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and departmental targets.
• Set sales targets and monitor team performance through regular reviews.
• Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of proposals.

Customer Relationship Management
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
• Conduct customer visits and presentations to promote solar solutions.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

Technical & Product Support
• Maintain a thorough understanding of solar products, technologies, industry regulations, and market developments.
• Support customers throughout the sales cycle from initial consultation to completion.

Reporting & Compliance
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sales practices.

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of sales experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in the solar, renewable energy, electrical, or energy sector is highly preferred.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Knowledge of Kenya's renewable energy market and regulatory environment.
