Benefits Sales Support Specialist
Location: Nairobi, Kenya (100% On-site)
Contract Type: Full-time Kenyan Employment Contract (Subject to statutory deductions: PAYE, SHIF, NSSF)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 AM – 06:00 PM (Local Time)
The Benefits Specialist provides essential daily support to clients and employees regarding their benefit plans. This role involves coordinating administrative processes such as qualifying life events, eligibility inquiries, and coverage confirmations. You will be a key point of contact for inquiries related to billing, payroll deductions, and retirement plans, ensuring all operations adhere to strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs) from our Nairobi office.
Responsibilities
• Employee Support: Actively monitor and respond to employee inquiries via the Zoom phone queue and department email.
• Claims Management: Process Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims, assisting with resolution and enrollment updates.
• Payroll Coordination: Ensure all employee benefit enrollments and payroll deductions are entered accurately. Set up and maintain employer contributions within the payroll system.
• Open Enrollment (OE): Prepare OE workbooks and execute assigned tasks during the annual open enrollment period.
• Auditing: Perform regular audits of benefit deductions and calculate arrears for missed deductions when necessary.
• Carrier Liaison: Communicate directly with insurance carriers to resolve plan-specific issues and request ID cards.
• System Maintenance: Generate reports from PrismHR and handle manual system updates in carrier portals.
• Compliance: Maintain general knowledge of COBRA, retirement plans, and reconciliation while adhering to departmental KPIs.
Qualifications
• Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Professional Experience:
• 3 to 5 years of total professional experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience specifically in Benefits Administration.
• 2 to 5 years in customer service or client-facing administrative roles.
• * Language Skills: Advanced English Level (90% proficiency in Reading, Writing, and Conversational skills).
• Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office. Prior experience with PrismHR or Client Space is highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: High attention to detail (meticulous), proactivity, teamwork, and high frustration tolerance.
Pay range and compensation package
Benefits under Kenyan Law: Full compliance with the Kenyan Employment Act. Statutory leave days (Annual, Sick, and Maternity/Paternity leave as per law). Standard statutory deductions (PAYE, SHIF/NHIF, NSSF).
