Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Technical Sales Manager, located in Nairobi County, Kenya, with some flexibility for remote work.
The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for managing sales team, driving sales, managing key accounts, providing technical strategies , technical proposals, and delivering excellent customer service.
The role involves developing and maintaining customer relationships, presenting technical solutions tailored to client needs, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Additionally, you will work closely with other teams to identify business opportunities, support project implementation, and meet sales targets.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, manage, and mentor the sales team, set targets, track performance, and enforce accountability
• Drive revenue growth by developing and executing sales strategies, building a strong pipeline, and closing deals
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities while building strategic relationships with key stakeholders (clients, consultants, architects, contractors)
• Conduct client engagements, understand requirements, and lead solution selling by translating needs into technical proposals and system designs
• Oversee tendering and proposal processes, ensuring compliance, competitiveness, and successful contract negotiations
• Manage key accounts to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and growth through upselling and cross-selling
• Monitor market trends and competitors, coordinate with internal teams, and provide accurate reporting, forecasts, and strategic input
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, IT, or a related field
• Relevant professional certifications in networking, security systems, or project management (e.g. Cisco, Fortinet, Hikvision, PMP) are an added advantage
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in ICT / ELV / security systems sales with a proven ability to meet targets
• Demonstrated ability to lead or support a sales team and drive results
• Strong technical understanding of ELV systems (CCTV, access control, networking, structured cabling) with the ability to design and present integrated solutions that meet client needs
• Experience in business development, business strategy, industry stakeholder engagement, and development of new solutions
• Demonstrated ambition, leadership potential, and capacity to grow into a General Manager role
