Title: Sr. Payroll Coordinator

Location: Remote
Reports To: Accounting Manager
Employment Type: M-F, 8 – 5

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000

Position is pending contract award.

Summary

The Sr. Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing and administering payroll accurately and on time while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws. This role supports employees by addressing payroll-related questions and works closely with HR and Accounting to maintain accurate payroll records.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees

• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions

• Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes

• Administer payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and retirement contributions

• Reconcile payroll reports and general ledger entries

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax forms

• Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management

• Assist with year-end processes, including W-2s and other tax filings

• Support payroll audits and internal control initiatives

• Collaborate with HR on benefits administration and employee data accuracy

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

• A minimum of 3–4 years of high volume payroll processing experience is required

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred

• Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage/hour compliance

• Experience with Paychex systems is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
