About The Role:
We are looking for an EFT Switching Specialist (ISO 8583 Focus) to own and deliver EFT switching configurations, message specifications, and integration flows with a strong emphasis on ISO 8583 transaction processing supporting safe change delivery, testing, and stable BAU operations across multiple channels and external networks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver EFT switch configuration/parameter changes and establish risk mitigation plans for any updates impacting transaction processing.
• Perform comprehensive impact analysis before initiating changes (routing rules, fees, limits, stand-in, reversal/chargeback flows where applicable).
• Ensure processes and controls are followed for quality delivery and support implementation cutovers.
• Support testing in all phases (SIT/UAT/regression/certification), including use of simulators and test scripting to validate message behavior.
• Work with solution design and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into message specs, mapping, and processing rules.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve defects/incidents and ensure BAU stability.
• Maintain high-quality documentation (message mappings, change logs, runbooks) and use Agile delivery tools.
Key Requirements:
• Strong working knowledge of EFT switches and transaction processing flows (especially in issuing/acquiring environments).
• Strong knowledge of ISO 8583 message structures (MTI, bitmaps, data elements) and how messages are transmitted over networks (commonly TCP/IP).
• Knowledge of ISO 8583/93 message specifications and integration standards.
• Exposure to scheme/network interfaces (issuing and acquiring) and certification support.
• Experience working in Agile environments and tools like Jira; ability to operate in small, fast-paced teams.
• Deep message mapping (DE/field-level), MAC/encryption basics, key management concepts, switch simulators/tools (e.g., message injectors), strong log analysis and production troubleshooting.
